Over 100 stolen bicylces recovered from San Francisco man

San Francisco residents searching for their stolen bike could be in luck. Police announced Friday they have posted photos online of more than 100 stolen bicycles recovered earlier this month from a San Francisco man who allegedly had them stored in his home in the city's Silver Terrace neighborhood as well as in two storage lockers in Oakland. The stash of bicycles was discovered after investigators from the Ingleside Police Station were led to the home of Irving Sanchez, 18, in the 200 block of Charter Oak Avenue, police said. Read More

Teenager rescued from cliffside in Seacliff neighborhood of San Francisco

A 16-year-old was rescued from a cliff in San Francisco's Seacliff neighborhood Friday afternoon, according to a fire department dispatcher. Firefighters were called around 2:45 p.m. to the 300 block of Sea Cliff Avenue near China Beach on a report of a person, possibly a child, stuck on a rock, the dispatcher said. The address of the rescue location was later corrected to 300 El Camino Del Mar. The person was reportedly in a safe location but unable to get down, the dispatcher said. Read More

Fire causes $200,000 in damage at abandoned SF police station

A two-alarm fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damage to a former police station in San Francisco's Dogpatch neighborhood on Tuesday, a fire department spokeswoman said. The fire was reported at 1:06 p.m. at 2300 Third St., located on the southwest corner of Third and 20th streets. The blaze was extinguished in about an hour and did not injure any firefighters or civilians, fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said Wednesday. Read More

Sheriff says Sierra Lamar was murdered; family maintains hope for safe return

Investigators believe the man arrested Monday in connection with Sierra LaMar’s disappearance kidnapped and murdered the 15-year-old Morgan Hill girl, but her family is maintaining hope that she is still alive. Two sought in armed liquor store robbery

The owner of a liquor store near Redwood City was robbed at gunpoint Friday night, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said. The incident was reported at 9:01 p.m. at One Stop Liquors at 390 Fourth Ave. in the unincorporated North Fair Oaks neighborhood. The owner told deputies that one of two suspects pointed a semi-automatic handgun at him and demanded he open the cash register, sheriff’s officials said. The pair then fled with cash. San Francisco lawyer arrested in Dublin hit-and-run death

A San Ramon man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a bicyclist in Dublin on Tuesday, police officials said Friday. Spencer Freeman Smith was arrested Thursday after Dublin police identified him as the owner of a recently purchased black 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS550 connected with the fatal crash on Dougherty and Fall Creek roads, according to Lt. Teens arrested in connection with graffiti case

Two teens were arrested on Thursday and charges are pending for a third teen in connection with multiple incidents of graffiti in Burlingame, police said. Burlingame police and neighboring police departments had noticed an increase in graffiti in recent months and investigators were able to identify three potential suspects, police said. BART station stabbing closes site for morning commuters

The 24th Street BART station in San Francisco's Mission District was closed for a portion of Friday morning while BART police investigated a stabbing there, a BART spokesman said. BART police closed the station at 4:43 a.m. Fridayday after a female suspect stabbed a man in the station, BART spokesman Jim Allison said. Trains passed through the station without letting passengers off, and BART customers were not permitted to enter the station until 5:26 a.m. when the station reopened, Allison said. Read More

Bicyclist badly hurt in crash with PG&E vehicle

A bicyclist was critically injured in a collision with a PG&E vehicle in the South of Market neighborhood Wednesday morning, police and fire officials said. The PG&E vehicle was traveling south on South Van Ness Avenue and turning left onto 13th Street when the accident occurred, police Sgt. Daryl Fong said. Edwin Ramos found guilty of murdering San Francisco man, two sons

A San Francisco jury Wednesday found Edwin Ramos guilty of murdering a father and two of his sons in an afternoon shooting in the city's Excelsior District in 2008. Ramos, 25, an alleged MS-13 gang member, was accused of gunning down Anthony Bologna, 48, and his sons Michael, 20, and Matthew, 16, on June 22, 2008, near Congdon and Maynard streets as they drove home from a family outing.
