When they arrived they found a black Toyota Corolla that had been involved in a collision with a gray Honda Civic. Sosa, the driver of the Corolla, was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Officers and paramedics took lifesaving measures, but Sosa died at the scene.

Beltran, who had been a passenger in the back of the Toyota, was booked later that day into San Francisco jail on suspicion of manslaughter, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle and carrying a loaded firearm in public. Bail is currently set at $475,000, according to jail records.

A GoFundMe created to help Sosa’s family cover funeral costs had raised $2,335 as of Tuesday. According to the GoFundMe, the suspect in the shooting shot Sosa three times in his back while Sosa was in his car.
