Proposition 40 was placed on the ballot by Republicans who disagreed with California’s new independently drawn boundaries for state Senate districts. A yes vote ensures that our state’s new Senate district boundaries, which were not entirely mapped out by opportunistic politicians trying to make it easier for themselves to get re-elected, stand as presently devised. Voting no would invalidate the maps and leave the rest up to a judicial panel. Vote yes on Prop. 40.
