Vacaville high school teacher Steve Cuckovich stirred up a hornets’ nest by starting to deduct 25 points off students’ grades if they said “God bless you” when anybody sneezed during class. Cuckovich denied any anti-religious bias and said he believed his students were purposely sneezing and chorusing “God bless you” to disrupt the class. After parents complained, the school supervisor ordered him to stop deducting points, but he said he would continue disciplining troublemakers in other ways.
