Franklin County, Ohio, will pay more than $68,000 to two families whose dead children got mixed up by the county morgue, resulting in the wrong one being cremated. A coroner’s clerk, who has since been fired, released the infants’ bodies to the wrong funeral homes. As a result, a 14-month-old boy was cremated in violation of his parents’ religious belief, and a second family did not get the cremation they wished for their newborn boy.
