WHAT: U.S. intelligence agencies concluded in a newly leaked secret report that Russia’s military intelligence was behind a bomb blast at an exterior wall of the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi, Georgia, in September, according to the Washington Times.
HOW: The CIA report allegedly confirms a Georgian Interior Ministry investigation that traced the U.S. Embassy bombing and a yearlong series of other Georgian bombings to a Russian military intelligence officer named Maj. Yevgeny Borisov.
WHAT’S BEING DONE: Congressional intelligence committee members and staff have reportedly been briefed on the report. Sen. Jon Kyl of Arizona, the Senate Republican whip, is asking for a full investigation.
