WHAT: Project Gunrunner, a joint federal task force, was supposed to follow automatic weapons being smuggled to Mexican drug cartel higher-ups. However, at least 1,000 guns got lost across the border.

WHY IT’S OUTRAGEOUS: The weapons used to kill Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry were among those being tracked by Project Gunrunner.

WHAT’S BEING DONE: Sen. Charles Grassley is demanding answers from the Department of Justice about how Project Gunrunner went wrong. He said that so far “they’re stonewalling.”
