WHO: Daniel Ray Stewart, 24, of North Carolina
WHAT: Stewart faces criminal charges after he was allegedly found posing as a visiting medical resident in the emergency room of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, N.C.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The young man, who reportedly has a history of impersonation or similar activities, reportedly worked in the ER for two weeks before a physician’s assistant noticed he was not wearing a badge. Hospital officials say he was shadowing doctors and nurses and was never alone with a patient, but they are working to determine just how many patients he might have had contact with.
