Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi introduced legislation that would require the one-for-one replacement of any demolished housing units.
The proposed law, introduced Tuesday, was inspired by the recently approved Drew School expansion.
The legislation says that: Where the Planning Commission approves demolition of sound housing under this the Commission shall require replacement, on a one-to-one basis, of the demolished units with units of like affordability.”
Also it states: “This replacement housing may either be provided as part of the proposed project or on a separate site.”
