Nightlife enthusiasts to rally at 1pm

Nightlife fans, musicians and club owners who decry a “war on fun” in San Francisco will rally at City Hall before a Board of Supervisors hearing Monday at 1 p.m.

Supervisors are currently mulling legislation that will allow the commission to discipline problem nightclubs and impose emergency permit suspensions. It would also allow commissioners to issue tickets for poor crowd control or noise disturbances.

While the new law would strengthen the commission’s powers, some entertainment industry members strongly oppose an amendment to the legislation that would restrict new entertainment venues if the number of permits increases by 15 percent. The amendment, they argue, would prevent the entertainment industry to recover from the economic downturn.

Ruleoflaw

Hey, why enact new laws, no one follows the old ones anyway. You vote for boneheads you get bonehead laws. Why should club owners follow rules...in a city where laws and rules do not matter even to law enforcement officials. Illegal alien youth changed with felonies get set free...if there caught driving without a license or insurance, so what, cops give them 20 minutes to find someone with a license so they can keep their car.

This city is on the cutting edge of turning the U.S. into a third world country. I hope the boneheads that vote for boneheads fells safer now.
