McGoldrick measure up for review

In a blast from the legislative past, a ballot initiative introduced by former supervisor Jake McGoldrick goes before the Board of Supervisors' Rules Committee Monday.

McGoldrick, who was elected in 2000 to his first term as supervisor for District 1, introduced the initiative before he was termed out of office last year. The ordinance would make The City's billboard laws even stricter by limiting the amount of advertising that goes on street furniture and city-owned buildings.

It's the second ballot measure introduced by McGoldrick for the November 2009 ballot. Another initiative that would have allowed members of the Board of Supervisors to hire more than two legislative aides was abandoned earlier this year.
