Where: Adat Yeshurun Valley Sephardic Synagogue in North Hollywood
What: An unidentified male gunman wearing a black hooded sweatshirt entered the underground parking garage shortly before 6:20 a.m. Thursday. He approached two men arriving to attend prayer service and shot each in the leg without saying a word. He then fled as witnesses called 911.
What’s being done: Adat Yeshurun is in the heart of the San Fernando Valley’s Orthodox Jewish community, within walking distance of kosher markets, Hebrew schools and other synagogues. Los Angeles police have mounted a major investigation and security is being ramped up in the community.
