Airfares still high despite oil prices plummeting

Dim Bulb: Those piled-on airline-fare increases and new fees for extra luggage, meals, etc., were foisted on the public last summer supposedly as an emergency measure to help carriers survive the cash drain of all-time-high fuel prices. But those price increases still remain, even as oil prices have plummeted by more than two-thirds, and the airlines show no signs of reducing their charges anytime soon.

SO THEY BUY THEIR FUEL IN BULK IN (PAST HIGHER PRICED FUEL) "FUTURES" IS WHY SOME SAY THEY ARE STILL STICKIN-IT TO US!? SO, JUST BOYCOTT THE AIRLINES AND NOT FLY AS MUCH!!!

AJ, then it's a Cath-22. We're still screwed. If we don't fly they'll justify the high prices due to lack of business. Oh well... since gas is much better now we're driving to Disneyland for the kid's vacation instead of flying to Hawaii. So I guess I'll boycott them with you!
