UPDATED: Fire officials reported the rear deck fire at an apartment building in the Outer Richmond as “under control” at approximately 4 p.m. Two adults have been displaced and the fire is not thought to be suspicious in nature.

The San Francisco Fire Department responded to a one-alarm fire that broke out at an apartment building at 7127 Geary Blvd. in the Outer Richmond District Saturday afternoon.

The active fire was reported at approximately 2 p.m. and has not resulted in any injures, according SFPD spokesperson Jonathan Baxter.

The fire broke out on an exterior rear deck of the three-story building and fire officials have not commented on a possible cause, but are cautioning the public to avoid the area.

The Outer Richmond fire follows a string of six overnight fires reported just blocks away at Golden Gate Park that did not result in any injuries or structural damages. Fire officials are investigating the causes of those fires as suspicious.
