Officer hospitalized, police vehicles vandalized at Dolores Park

An officer was injured and two police patrol vehicles were vandalized this evening after an incident at San Francisco’s Dolores Park involving skateboarders, according to San Francisco police spokesperson Grace Gatpandan.

A large group of people had gathered at the park for a skateboarding contest held the steepest part of Dolores street between 19th and 21st streets.

During the incident, members of the crowd allegedly threw projectiles at the officers. The injured officer was taken to the hospital.

Additionally, ambulances were called for skateboarders who lost control while riding, Gatapandan said on Twitter.

Dolores Street has been shut down between 18th and 20th streets.

Police are asking residents and drivers to avoid the area.
