Do you think animal products impair weight loss? Definitely. Studies show that the more animal products are consumed, the fatter the people tend to be on average. Cheese is 70 percent fat; if it were any worse, it would be Vaseline. It’s not that we’re eating too many Brussels sprouts; that’s not our problem.
Do you follow your diet? I follow a vegan diet, but I was not raised that way. I grew up in North Dakota among cattle ranchers and every day, I ate roast beef, baked potatoes and corn. I have made big diet changes and I would never go back. The research is too compelling that a meaty, cheesy diet is a recipe not just for an obesity epidemic, but for all kinds of health problems.
Several of your clients have had their migraines eliminated. Do you know why? Certain foods trigger migraines and arthritis pain by triggering the inflammatory process. The most common is dairy products, and when I put a person on a vegan diet to help with diabetes, very often they discover that not only does their diabetes go away, but their migraines go away.
