Nextdoor CEO Nirav Tolia was charged Wednesday with felony hit-and-run for reportedly leaving the scene of an accident near San Francisco International Airport last August, according to a report from NBC Bay Area.

Nextdoor is an app that aims to help people build relationships with people in their neighborhoods.

Tolia also faces a lawsuit in connection with the accident on Highway 101 in Brisbane on his way home from the airport. According to the story, Tolia was allegedly involved in an accident where a driver spun out of control, damaged her car and broke her hand.

Tolia talked to NBC on Tuesday and said, “I just learned about this lawsuit tonight and will cooperate fully with authorities. This is a personal matter that happened last August and is not related to Nextdoor.”

Tolia is scheduled to appear in court May 28, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office.
