Facebook is experiencing intermittent outages, according to its Twitter feed. The site was offline for at least 45 minutes starting around noon Thursday. The social network began tweeting about its woes around 12:30 p.m.

As of 4 p.m., the site appeared to be online for most users. Facebook said on its Twitter page that the outages occurred because of a third party network provider.
