Cops have classified four robbery suspects as “dumb criminals” for recently mugging their own neighbor in the Bayview district.
The victim told police he instantly recognized the thugs that jumped him in the area of Gilman Avenue and Hawes Street around 10:30 p.m. Aug. 25. The suspects forced the victim to the ground, sifted through his pockets and stole cash, police said.
The victim said he was “baffled” the suspects would be dumb enough to rob a neighbor that could easily identify them, police said. Even the cops were puzzled as the victim led them to a suspect’s house, police said.
The officers knocked and “sure enough, the perpetrator himself opens the door — with Larry, Curley and Moe looking over his shoulder,” police said.
The suspect feigned surprise, the officers said, but were positively identified by the victim and booked for robbery, authorities said.
This robbery case “was a piece of cake,” cops said.
