Correction: Meltdown 101 Q&A on flash orders

Associated Press
08/20/09 9:30 AM PDT

NEW YORK — In an Aug. 13 Q&A about a stock trading service called "flash orders," The Associated Press, relying on a news release, reported erroneously that the exchange Direct Edge ECN LLC planned to stop offering the orders. The exchange said it is suspending plans to introduce a certain type of flash orders, not stopping all flash orders. It acknowledged that the news release could have caused confusion about the change.
