A major charitable soccer foundation apparently thought that a $25,000 light system could come in handy for athletes when Mission Playground gets its synthetic turf renovation.
So U.S. Soccer Foundation has offered to pay for lights that will be created by Musco — a company known for its work on Little League hometown fields.
The donation was unanimously approved by the Recreation and Park Commission and is awaiting a green light from the Board of Supervisors.
In the meantime, the hardtop should be replaced by early fall.
