Michelle Williams has a new man: Jason Segel, Us magazine reports! Though the “Blue Valentine” actress and the “Muppets” man might seem like an odd couple — not to mention that they live on opposite coasts — they were photographed taking an arm-in-arm stroll after dinner out together at a restaurant near her Brooklyn, N.Y., home.
And the next day, the “How I Met Your Mother” star kept an eye on Matilda, 6, Michelle’s daughter with the late Heath Ledger, while the blond cutie tooled around on her scooter.
“They are smitten and very serious,” a source says of the new lovebirds, who reportedly know each other through Michelle’s BFF Busy Philipps — Jason’s “Freaks and Geeks” co-star long ago.
Despite the distance factor, they are “trying to make it work,” declares the insider. “She hasn’t been this happy in a long time.”
OK, we know we shouldn’t get our hopes up, but we kind of love the idea of these two together!
Apparently Jennie Garth has abandoned any pretense of claiming the demise of her marriage was a mutual decision. Though she’s not demonizing husband Peter Facinelli — yet, at any rate — the “90210” star is making it clear he’s the one who opted to end their union.
Of course, one might have guessed this given that the “Breaking Dawn” actor was the one to officially file for divorce Wednesday. But his wife of 11 years still took pains to tell People magazine she “was very resistant” to splitting up: “I didn’t want it to happen. It took me some time to come to peace with it.”
Parents of three daughters (Luca, 14; Lola, 9; Fiona, 5), the pair seemed like a perfect match … but Peter’s catapulting into “Twilight” fame meant more time apart. Starting in 2010, while Jennie lived with the girls in Santa Ynez Valley, Peter was dividing his time between New York City and Vancouver, British Columbia. “He would do everything he could to fly back every weekend,” Jennie says. “[But] it took a real toll on our marriage.” Um, ya think?
When a spouse suddenly says sayonara, “you get the rug pulled from under you,” Jennie confided. “I have no landscape of what my future will look like, where before I had something that I can count on.”
So basically, what she’s telling the press and public is, “Poor me, my husband got all famous from ‘Twilight’ and dumped me.” Nicely done, Jennie — way to take a move from the Kelly Taylor playbook!
