The battle for the title of First Lady is on!
Melania Trump, current wife of President Donald Trump, apparently wasn’t pleased with an interview his ex Ivana Trump did with ABC News in which she called herself “first lady” and said she has a direct line to the White House.
Answering a question about how often she talks to her ex, Ivana said about every two weeks, but added that she refrains from being in touch too frequently.
“I don’t really want to call him there because Melania is there, and I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that. Because I’m basically first Trump wife, OK? I’m first lady, OK?” Ivana said, laughing, during an interview touting her new book “Raising Trump.”
Melania’s spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham soon had a few public words: “Mrs. Trump has made the White House a home for Barron and the President. She loves living in Washington, D.C. and is honored by her role as First Lady. She plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books,” Grisham said in a statement to CBS News, adding that there was “no substance” to Ivana’s “attention-seeking, self serving” remarks.
However, in a different interview with “CBS Sunday Morning,” Ivana did give Melania credit as First Lady when she compared her to Marla Maples, whom she called “nobody.”
Marla and Donald had an affair when he was married to Ivana, who is the mother of the president’s eldest daughter Ivanka and his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.
‘FIXER UPPER’ UPDATE
Chip and Joanna Gaines are denying reports that say they’re leaving their hit series “Fixer Upper” in a bid to land a more lucrative contract.
While the New York Post’s Page Six said the renovation stars decided to quit their HGTV show because of what a source described as the network’s “horrible contracts,” Brock Murphy, director of PR for the Gaines’ Magnolia Market, told Us Weekly that “Chip and Jo’s decision to leave ‘Fixer Upper’ is truly just based on wanting to catch their breath and is not based on anything else people might read.”
Folks from “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire” have announced some upcoming Bay Area contestants: Shad Willingham plays Tuesday Oct. 10 and Wednesday Oct. 11 and Leslie Shannon plays on Thursday Oct. 12; the game show airs at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on ABC.
