Mar is the right choice for District 1

Eric Mar may be the supervisor who brought us the Happy Meal ban and other legislation with “only in San Francisco” appeal for new articles, but he also is a lawmaker who looks at each issue based on facts, and not merely ideology. Though aligned with the progressive camp on the Board of Supervisors, Mar views his role as pushing issues that protect San Franciscans — a noble, though sometimes quixotic, undertaking.

His opponent is David Lee, a Richmond district businessman who talks in sweeping terms about improving The City’s business climate, but seems to lack truly viable ideas.

Opponents will try to paint Mar as a loony legislator, but unseating this earnest and knowledgeable lawmaker would be the truly crazy move.
