Police are investigating the death of a man who fell in the Bayview District last month and succumbed to his injuries weeks later as a homicide, the San Francisco Examiner has learned.
Police responded to a medical call Jan. 16 for a 56-year-old man who fell on Ingalls Street near Wallace Avenue. The man died at the hospital last Wednesday from injuries related to his fall.
The following day, investigators went to the scene and determined his death was a homicide.
“It wasn’t just a fall,” police spokesperson Officer Grace Gatpandan said. “It was an intentional act.”
Suspect information was not immediately available on Thursday.
There have been eight homicides in San Francisco so far this year.
