A man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries Sunday night after he was stabbed in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood for confronting a person yelling slurs at him, police said.
The 33-year-old man was walking his dog around 9:07 p.m. when a man allegedly began yelling slurs at him near Page and Ashbury Streets, according to police. When he confronted the man yelling at him he was stabbed with a knife, police said.
The suspect, a man between the ages of 50 and 60, ran west on Page Street and has yet to be arrested.
The man who was stabbed was taken to the hospital in critical condition, police said.
Police did not specify the nature of the slurs yelled at the victim and have not yet responded to a request for further information.
