Man shot near Garfield Square

A man was shot near Garfield Square in the Mission District early Monday morning, according to police.

The 39-year-old victim was walking near 26th and Harrison streets around 2:30 a.m. when he heard gunshots and fell to the ground.

He discovered he had been shot and was transported to the hospital, police said.

The man’s injuries were not life-threatening. Police have yet to identify a suspect.
