Man seriously injured in Hallidie Plaza stabbing

A 33-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries in a stabbing near the Powell Street station in San Francisco on Wednesday night, police said.

The stabbing was reported at 8:50 p.m. in Hallidie Plaza near the BART and Municipal Railway station.

The victim suffered multiple stab wounds to his torso and was taken to a hospital, according to police. An update on his condition was not immediately available.

The suspects, believed to be four or five males, remain at large and police have not released descriptions of them.

Anyone with information about the stabbing is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
