Man killed with fists in Tenderloin, 1 arrested

A 38-year-old man allegedly used his fists to kill an older man in the Tenderloin on Sunday, according to police.

Police said the 66-year-old man was injured on O’Farrell Street between Hyde and Larkin streets at around 1:20 p.m.

The man was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

The suspect, identified as Sylvester Guard of San Francisco, was booked on suspicion of voluntary manslaughter in connection with the homicide.

Officer Robert Rueca, a San Francisco police spokesperson, declined to provide further information on the case.

The Medical Examiner’s Office has not released the identity of the victim.
