A man was carjacked at gunpoint as he sat in his truck in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood Monday morning, police said.
The 33-year-old victim was sitting in his truck shortly before 9:30 a.m. in the area of Alemany Boulevard and Ellsworth Street when a male suspect in his 20s jumped into the passenger seat, police said.
The suspect ordered the man to drive on the freeway, and then the two struggled over the gun, police said.
The victim then stopped the vehicle and the suspect fled on foot with the gun.
The victim suffered injuries in the encounter but is expected to survive, according to police.
No arrest has been reported in the case as of Tuesday afternoon.
