A Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority light rail train was involved in a crash with a sedan carrying a family of three in San Jose on Sunday morning, a fire captain said.
The collision was reported at about 9:50 a.m. at Zanker Road and Tasman Drive, San Jose fire Capt. Chuck Rangel said.
A woman in the sedan was injured and transported to an area hospital, Rangel said. He did not know her condition.
A man and teen in the car were not injured. The 11 passengers and operator on the train were not injured either, VTA spokeswoman Brandi Childress said.
The VTA train involved in the crash is derailed and Childress said it will likely take hours before train service is restored. Buses are running between the Baypointe and I-880/Milpitas stations, she said.
