A train struck and killed an adult female in Menlo Park tonight, according to Caltrain.
The pedestrian was hit by a southbound train at 7:37 p.m. on the tracks at Encinal Avenue, agency spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.
The train, bearing 238 passengers, was being delayed at Oak Grove Avenue, Dunn said shortly after 8 p.m. She said no one on the train was injured. The next southbound train #444 will pick up the passengers and take them to their destination.
The northbound track was opened at 9:08 p.m. and all trains will use this track temporarily.
Tracks in the area are closed and northbound train #447 is currently waiting at the Palo Alto station until the tracks are open.
