San Francisco commuters were cursing the driver Thursday morning who drove a sport utility vehicle nearly a half-mile into a Muni tunnel, shutting down rush-hour train service.

Shuttles were running between West Portal and Embarcadero Muni Metro stations after a car entered the tracks at Church and Duboce streets, according to Muni.

Affected lines included the L-Taraval, M-Ocean View, N-Judah, K-Ingleside, J-Church and T-Third Street lines.

No injuries were reported.

Emergency crews were in the process of removing the car from the tracks and then repairs and testing will be needed, Muni spokesman Paul Rose said.

“This is going to take some time,” he said. “I encourage commuters to consider other means of transit this morning.”
