The Golden Gate Bridge will cap off its 75th anniversary festivities with a two-day party along the San Francisco waterfront during the Memorial Day weekend in May.

Stretching from Fort Point at the base of the bridge to Pier 39 at Fisherman’s Wharf, the festival will feature a historic watercraft parade, music and dance stages, art installations, and a classic car exhibit showcasing vehicles from 1937, the year the famed span opened for business.

The celebration will kick off Saturday, May 26 and last until Sunday, May 27 at 9:30 p.m., when it will conclude with a fireworks display, according to the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District, which operates the span and is coordinating the festivities with the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy.

Along with the two-day party, the bridge district has also embarked on several customer enhancements at the span in honor of its 75th anniversary. For the first time ever, nighttime walking tours of the bridge are being offered, and the district is building a new pavilion to serve as a visitor center for sightseers.
