A car abandoned on the J-Church tracks Sunday night left commuters trying to get to Balboa Park in a lurch.

Around 9 p.m., the driver of a car reportedly abandoned a vehicle on the J-Church tracks that run on the west side of Dolores Park, according to Muni officials.

Shuttle buses were in places to transport riders between 18th and Church streets and Balboa Park.

Regular light rail service was resumed at 9:50 p.m., San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency spokesman Paul Rose.

The reason the car was left on the tracks is unknown. It is also unknown if the owner of the vehicle was located.
