A woman is in critical condition after being a struck by a Muni train Thursday afternoon.
The victim, an Asian woman in her 60s, was struck by a K-Ingleside train heading west at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Westgate Drive, police Officer Albie Esparza said.
The incident occurred around 3:15 p.m.
The woman is listed in critical condition, Esparza said.
The details of the crash are under investigation. It is not clear if the woman was crossing the intersection or waiting for the train, Esparza said.
“We are still talking to witnesses to find out exactly what happened,” he said.
The intersection has four marked crosswalks. The train is a running on street level at the location. The K-Ingleside has a stop listed at the intersection.
Muni officials could not confirm the incident late Thursday night.
