A passenger vehicle was struck by a Muni light-rail train just outside the West Portal tunnel.

Underground light-rail service is recovering from a 15-minute delay after a collision between a Muni train and passenger vehicle occurred just outside the West Portal station.

A passenger vehicle was turning left just outside the tunnel at West Portal when it was struck by an outbound M-Ocean View light rail vehicle, according to San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency spokesman Paul Rose.

The driver of the car was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Muni vehicle was not injured, but is being tested for the use of drugs or alcohol, which is usual protocol, according to Rose. No other injuries were reported.

The crash occurred around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
