Summer finally arrives in The City

City residents can finally put away their parkas and dust off their sunscreen bottles and beach towels as temperatures are expected to be in the upper 80s today.

A high-pressure system is sitting overhead bringing in a more offshore air flow and allowing temperatures to rise, said Diana Henderson, a forecaster with the National Weather Service.

Instead of the too familiar dismal fog layer, The City will awaken to sunny, clear skies with winds of about 10 to 20 mph.
There is a heat advisory for most of the Bay Area starting at noon and ending at 8 p.m., triggering a second straight Spare the Air day.
