John Martin, the executive director of the San Francisco International Airport, has taken on an additional responsibility: president of the California Airport Council. The creation of the new organization, formed by the 30 commercial airports throughout the state, was prompted by “the economic downturn and state officials’ realization that the air travel industry plays an important role in California’s transportation and economic future.” The council aims to increase air travel to and from California.
