S.F. woman identified as Highway 101 victim

The woman run over by at least five cars on southbound Highway 101 has been identified as a San Francisco resident.

Monica Bradley, 34, died late Tuesday night after she ran across the highway just south of the Silver Avenue exit, said Alan Pringle, chief investigator with the San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office. An investigation is under way, Pringle said.

Bradley was arguing with her boyfriend before she leaped out of the vehicle by the side of the road, CHP officials said. The couple was headed home.

Around 10:20 p.m., several drivers reported running over something, although some were unaware it was a human body. The section of road south of Silver Avenue is dark and dips down slightly.

Investigators say Bradley’s body was torn apart by the vehicles moving at normal freeway speeds.

Two lanes of the southbound highway were closed for two hours following the accident.
