An investigation into a teen murder suspect’s escape from San Mateo County’s Youth Services Center will be the subject of a community meeting in the unincorporated Highlands neighborhood next week.

On Feb. 14, 17-year-old Josue Orozco escaped over the wall of the center, located in the hills above San Mateo near the Highlands neighborhood. Residents have since voiced concerns about how the escape was investigated; they will be presented with the draft findings of the county’s special investigation into the escape Tuesday at 7 p.m. at 1951 LexingtonAvenue.

Orozco was only 14 when he was charged with murder and is the youngest person charged with murder in San Mateo County.
