Police seeking 13-year-old girl who apparently ran away from home

San Francisco police are asking for the public’s help in finding a 13-year-old who apparently ran away from home last week.

Mireya Zapata was last seen Aug. 19 at her home. The location of the home is not being released, police said.

Mireya was last seen wearing a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, a white T-shirt and blue jeans, and was carrying a black shoulder bag. She is known to frequent the Metreon and Westfield San Francisco Centre Shopping Mall, according to police.

She is described as a Hispanic girl who is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Police Department’s missing persons unit at (415) 558-5508 during regular business hours, or (415) 553-1071 after hours.
