Scoop: Reese, Jake on the rocks again

“This is his first epic, and his mind is on his work,” a friend of the Oscar-winning actress explained to the tabloid. “They talk on the phone and e-mail, but he’s not ‘there.’ Reese is wondering if this is how it’s going to be between them every time he’s out of the country filming.”

Things allegedly got rough enough that Reese jetted to the U.K. in mid-September for a brief reunion with her man. “They really needed to reconnect and remember why they were in a relationship in the first place,” another source claims.
How many times have the tabloids split these two up now?
Madonna, A-Rod: On?
Rumors swirled this summer that Madonna and Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez were an illicit item — and now that his divorce is final, all eyes are on the couple for evidence of a dalliance.
According to reports, they dined together at NYC Mexican restaurant Dos Caminos last week. However, Her Madgesty’s rep told the New York Daily News that the singer ate there without A-Rod.
But according to Page Six, the baseball star was also spotted at the pop icon’s Central Park West building Thursday.
“The A-man just arrived in the back seat of her driver’s car and went through the building garage,” a source told the column.
Reps for both couldn’t be reached by press time. In the past, Madonna and A-Rod have firmly denied any romance, and Madge insists she’s still happily married to Guy Ritchie. Seems to us if there were something going on between these two very public figures, it’d be pretty hard to hide.
‘Hills’ Hostility
Another day, another drama for the cast of “The Hills.” Lauren Conrad is angrily denying rumors that she had a fling with pal Audrina Patridge’s man, Justin Bobby … and Spencer Pratt, in turn, is angrily denying that he spread the rumor.
“I’m being accused of being a bad friend, a slut and a liar all at once,” Lauren fumed to Usmagazine.com, shooting down the speculation. “It would actually be funny to me if people weren’t taking it seriously.”
So how did the tall tale get started? Lauren wrote on MySpace that a blogger had been “mysteriously” tipped off with the fake story, deadpanning, “I’m baffled. ... What kind of person would enjoy watching blogs and the press tear me apart?”
You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know she was referring to archnemesis Spencer Pratt — but the smarmy Spencer insisted to the Web site he had nothing to do with it.
“That being said, if it is true what she did with Justin, it doesn’t surprise me,” Spencer added. “Anyone who watched ‘Laguna Beach’ saw her trying to steal someone’s boyfriend every week for two years. Honestly, I really think she needs to stop blaming someone who wants nothing to do with her for all of the problems she creates.”
Oh, no, that doesn’t sound like someone who would start a nasty rumor. Not at all.
Brangie Brood
Despite the breakup rumors that incessantly plague them, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt looked happy together as they hit the red carpet at the NYC premiere of her film “Changeling.” Even adding infant twins to their brood, for a total of six kids, hasn’t gotten them down.
"Everybody’s great!” Angelina gushed at the premiere, OK! reports. “The babies are good and getting big and healthy and developing their personalities."
In fact, the prolific parents aren’t done — six isn’t enough for the Jolie-Pitts.
“We are going to have more kids,” Angie declared, “one way or another.”
Well if pictures of your kids were worth $15 million, you’d keep having more, too.
