Local musicians working to continue music education in schools — that’s the effort behind a talent showcase being presented by Mystic 7 Records this weekend.
Music in Life, Education and Schools, a nonprofit group with a mission to bolster arts for youths in the face of continued budget cuts, will receive funds raised at the showcase, which runs from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at Linden Station, 160 S. Linden Ave., South San Francisco.
It’s the second of eight shows sponsored by Mystic 7 Records, a Bay Area-based record label that develops, markets and showcases promising local groups and artists. The showcase winner will receive a recording contract with Mystic 7.
Saturday’s performance will be topped off with a concert featuring Gisela Tangui & the Voodoo Cabaret, A.K. Black and RaDante’ Keys & Friends.
Tickets are $20. For more information about the event, visit www.mystic7records.com.
