Pedestrian fatally struck on Skyline Boulevard in Daly City identified

A pedestrian fatally struck by a car as he walked across a crosswalk in Daly City on Thursday evening has been identified by the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office as 49-year-old Nelson Jose Munoz.

Munoz, a Daly City resident, was walking west in a crosswalk at the intersection of Skyline and Hickey boulevards around 5:50 p.m. Thursday when a 1994 Toyota Corolla traveling south on Skyline Boulevard struck him, police said.

Munoz was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Corolla was not cited and alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash, according to police.

The vehicle was impounded as police continue their investigation into the accident.
