Police are asking for the public’s help as they continue to search for suspects in the murder of a man who was found in a self storage facility in San Mateo on June 7.
Emergency crews responded to All American Self Storage at around 1:30 p.m. and discovered the victim, 33-year-old John Lockwood of Pacifica. He had been stabbed and died at the scene, police said.
Police said they do not believe that Lockwood’s murder was a random act of violence. They consider it an isolated incident and are asking for the public’s help to gather more information.
Detectives believe that one of the parties involved had a storage unit at the facility at 200 East Third Ave. and was there that day for a reason related to that unit.
Police are reviewing video footage from the storage site and are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to call police at (650) 522-7650 or the anonymous tip line at (650) 522-7676. Anonymous tips can also be sent via text message to (650) 262-3473 or emailed to sanmateo@tipnow.org.
