Pedestrian struck and killed by Caltrain

One person is dead after being struck by Caltrain near Menlo Park Sunday evening, according to transit officials.

Tasha Bartholemew, spokeswoman for Caltrain, confirmed one person was struck and killed while attempting to cross the tracks near Glenwood Avenue around 5:14 p.m.

The person was “trespassing” on the tracks, according to Bartholomew, and was hit by a train headed south.

Caltrain is experiencing delays of up to 15 minutes, Bartholomew said, because trains are single tracking around the incident.

This is Caltrains’ seventh fatality of the year.
