Parolee charged in store robbery

Days after dashing from a check-cashing store in the Tenderloin with $14,000 in large bills, the robber ran into three plainclothes officers across town, police said.

Gabriel Mosby, 51, has been booked on a host of felony charges stemming from the Aug. 7 incident in which he told a check-cashing clerk he had a gun before nabbing loads of cash, police said.

Three days after the robbery, police in the Bayview district caught up with the parolee, whose description was broadcast to cops citywide, police said.

Three plainclothes officers descended on Mosby as he was sitting in his car at Third Street and Evans Avenue, said Sgt. Chris Schaffer of the Bayview Police Station. They found $5,000 in cash, along with hefty amounts of heroin and crack cocaine, police said.

Police served search warrants at three separate addresses, but did not recover more cash, according to reports. Mosby was booked on four felony charges, including possession of narcotics and a parole violation, police said.
