San Francisco General Hospital Foundation board member Pam Baer is the founder of Hearts After Dark, a fundraiser that will take place tonight under the stars in Union Square.
What is Hearts After Dark? Hearts After Dark is an extension of the Foundation’s successful Heroes & Hearts Luncheon, which honors and celebrates local heroes in the community and features the debut of several new heart artworks. Since 2006, the annual luncheon and artworks have raised nearly $5 million for the hospital. Hearts After Dark is an exciting evening of music from popular ’80s cover band Tainted Love, DJ Solomon and a performance by Beach Blanket Babylon, with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
Why is the foundation hosting this event? The San Francisco General Hospital Foundation is hosting Hearts After Dark to introduce a younger generation of Bay Area residents and future supporters of The General to the important programs and services offered by San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.
What does the money go toward? The money goes toward SFGHF’s mission to improve the care and comfort of patients at San Francisco General Hospital Medical Center. SFGHF supports many programs at The General including the Avon Comprehensive Breast Cancer Center, Center for Vulnerable Populations and ACE Unit.
