A great hike
Monterey Jack: Monterey is known for its classic coastline, but the highest point on the peninsula, Jacks Peak, is worth a visit. At just over 1,000 feet tall, the peaceful ridge-top park provides beautiful views of Monterey Bay and Carmel Valley. Take a 2.5-mile clockwise loop hike among pine and madrone by starting on the Earl Moser Trail. Blooming wildflowers like the violet Douglas Iris decorate the trail.
